What is Botox?

Botox injections are a quick, safe and effective way to reduce the effects of skin ageing, while also preventing new lines and wrinkles from forming.

Botox works by blocking nerve signals in muscles, when injected into specific areas of the face. This temporarily relaxes the muscle, reducing the effects of facial movement.

Gummy Smile

Botox can be injected beside the nose to relax the muscle that draws the top lip upwards when smiling. The result is a reduction in show of excessive amounts of gum above the teeth.

Lip Flip

Botox can be injected above the top lip to weaken the muscle. The result is that the top lip is 'flipped' slightly outward showing more of the pink lip, creating the appearance of a fuller top lip.

Smokers/Perioral lines

Botox is injected in a similar pattern to a lip flip, but this time with the goal of reducing the strength of the muscle to improve the appearance of vertical lines the appear above the top lip.

DAO â€‹

This is where the muscle that pulls down on the outer portion of the mouth is relaxed. The results is an upward tilt to the corner of the mouth making you look less sad. This treatment can be an alternative for mild marionette lines, rather than filler but is best used as a preventative.

Pebble Chin  â€‹

The Mentalis muscle which is the muscle that pulls the chin inwards and upwards can often cause a pebble appearance to the chin. Botox can be used to relax the mengtalis muscle and prevent the pebbling from forming.
